Mudlark Aprons is a female-owned boutique specializing in unique, small-batch aprons designed specifically for pottery enthusiasts. Each apron reflects our passion for the craft, combining functionality with artistic flair.
Started by Hillary Kern LaMarche, Mudlark is a brand created by a pottery fanatic for all her fellow fanatics out in the pottery world. Hillary started by taking a single class. After that, she was hooked. And for anyone who has found themselves hooked on pottery, you know that it's a hard place to leave. Between honing her skills, getting her own wheel, and even finding a kiln, Hillary felt that the assortment of pottery aprons just wasn't fitting her needs (or style). Designs are usually function over form. So she decided to start Mudlark. A labor of love from one potter to all the others.

When Hillary set out to create the Mudlark brand, she knew that not only do artists want their work represented, but that people want to wear something that is one-of-a-kind. Therefore, each artist has three designs with a limited run of fifty. This means that each apron represents a milestone in that artist's career. A milestone that can be worn and loved by the wearer. Wearable art is not often associated with pottery aprons, which is why we're proud to partner with local artists to put their designs in your hands.
